W.O. #3 – Angie’s Party

desiree, May 13, 2019May 13, 2019

A week late, so no small talk. Let’s jump in!

WRITING OPPORTUNITY FOR THE WEEK OF APRIL 29
In approximately 150 words, dream up a text conversation between two people. During this interaction, have one person reveal a surprise or shocking detail.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

only one lane open. will be here forever. I will pitch my tent between people magazine & the snickers

Just forget it.

Come home.

oh no!

you made a big deal about needing your gluten free brownies & key lime lacroix for angie’s going away party

ANGIE’S party

that’s not even very considerate

you’re probably the only gluten free weirdo in the office & who else would drink that vomit flavor

actually I think you’re jealous about angie leaving

i can just see you now

quarantined in your office eating right out of the pan wishing you were the one starting your own life coach business

YOU as a life coach!!!!!!

Are you done?

i just fart laughed…now i’m done

just 2 people in front of me now

the question is if you’re done

why can’t you just be happy for people

I am happy for her, and actually, I am done.

It’s my going away party too.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

AND….scene! Voila!

Who are these people? I keep going back to a woman and her smart-butt boyfriend or a woman and her smart-butt roommate. What will she be pursuing after this going away party? Is she really happy for Angie? Are they even friends? Will she take this smart-butt person with her?

I don’t know.

So, my writing opportunity for this week (actually next two weeks because I’m swamped) is: It’s warming up! In 500 words, write about a couple’s or family’s last vacation together.

I know, so uplifting! But maybe they don’t know this is the last one or maybe the fact that this is the last one means a new and better chapter is on the horizon…or it could be horribly sad.

As usual, let me know what you think by commenting below and/or sending me your submission via the Contact page.

Keep writing and learning!
