W.O. #2 – The Fairy’s Lot

desiree, April 29, 2019August 29, 2019

Yep, I’m still here cranking it out!

This was last week’s writing opportunity: You found someone’s shopping list on the ground. It has six items on it. What are these items? How do they plan on using them? Write approx. 100 words.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

As a fairy finally on her own, there are some necessities that require gathering. A velvet pouch to hold trinkets. On any journey, a piece of honeycomb is a must. (Ever since my sly brother Everdeen made the Cloverwood Bee Colony turn on me, it’s been hard to find a yellow-jacket willing to barter.) A sharp needle–no need for silly cotton thread. (Thankfully, my integrity is still intact with the silkworms and spiders.) When in danger, sometimes there’s no time for magic, and hot sauce comes to the rescue! Glitter has become a reluctant show-stopper. Oh, the high-gloss tape…no matter man or magpie, all creatures sense and seek shiny things.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

One hundred and seventeen words. Better than last time. (I did use the word “approximate.”)

My bold, busy fairy has a fun journey ahead. It would be interesting to see where her story ends up….

In the meantime, post a comment below and/or submit a piece of writing for this week on the Contact page. This week’s writing opportunity is: In approximately 150 words, dream up a text conversation between two people. During this interaction, have one person reveal a surprise or shocking detail.

Amping up the drama with this one! (Not in real life please.)

I plan on posting an update later this week about what we’re up to this week…and where! (See that’s good drama for real life. No one’s flipping tables.)

Write your heart out, friends!
